Abstract

Abstrak Program homestay adalah salah satu aktiviti pelancongan yang berasaskan kepada penglibatan komuniti yang mempunyai potensi untuk berkembang dan membangunkan masyarakat luar bandar. Untuk menjayakan program ini, pihak yang terlibat khususnya pengusaha homestay harus mengenal pasti langkah yang boleh memberi kepuasan pelancong dan pada masa yang sama bermanfaat kepada mereka. Kepuasan pelancong harus diberi perhatian supaya program homestay dapat dikekalkan dan bersifat berterusan bagi jangka masa yang panjang. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti dan menganalisis tahap kepuasan pelancong domestik di Kampung Mesilou Kundasang, Sabah terhadap mutu perkhidmatan homestay. Kepuasan diukur berdasarkan analisis min bagi pelancong domestik yang berkunjung ke program homestay tersebut. Pendekatan penyelidikan kuantitatif ini telah diaplikasikan dalam kajian ini, iaitu penggunaan kaedah temu bual bersemuka dengan menggunakan borang kaji selidik ke atas 85 orang pelancong domestik. Kaedah temu bual secara mendalam dan pemerhatian turut dilaksanakan bersama dengan pihak berkepentingan (stakeholders) dalam program homestay tersebut bagi mendapatkan maklumat tambahan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kesemua pelancong domestik berpuas hati terhadap kemudahan, tahap keselamatan dan perkhidmatan yang disediakan program homestay sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh nilai min kepuasan antara 4.193-4.4157. Penemuan ini menunjukkan tahap kepuasan pelancong domestik terhadap ketiga-tiga elemen berada dalam zon berpuas hati. Kajian ini penting kepada pihak berkepentingan dalam program homestay khususnya kepada pengusaha agar mereka mengetahui keinginan para pelancong domestik. In order to succeed in this programme, the parties involved, especially the homestay operators need to identify suatainable approaches that can simultaneously bring economic benefits to them and satisfaction to the tourists. The purpose of this study is to examine domestic tourists' satisfaction with the quality of the homestay service in Mesilou Village, Kundasang, Sabah. The measurement for satisfaction was based on the mean analysis of a questionnaire survey findings involving 85domestic tourists visiting the homestays. Qualitative in-depth interviews of stakeholders and field observation were also conducted to gain further insights. The results of the study show that all of the domestic tourists were satisfied with the services , facilities and safety of the homestay programme as indicated by the satisfaction mean value of 4.193-4.4157. The study is pivotal to the stakeholders in the homestay programme especially the homestay operators who really should be aware the expectations of the domestic tourists.
