Ten species of wild edible mushrooms that were commonly consumed by the ethnics of Sabah were identified as Auricularia auricula/ Galie//a rufa/ Hygrocybe conica/ Lentine//us ompha//odes/ Lentinus ciliates/ Pleurotus porrigens/ Pleurotus spp./ Schizophy//um commune/ Volvarie//a spp./ and Xerula furfuracea. The mushrooms were analyzed for their proximate compositions, minerals, and amino acids. The macronutrient profile revealed that the wild mushrooms were rich source of protein (8.04 - 35.48%) and had low amount of fat (0.76 - 9.07%). Potassium is the most abundant mineral and followed by magnesium, sodium, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, and selenium. Hygrocybe conica had high amount of trace minerals like Fe, Cu, and Se. On average, mushroom had the good profile of essential amino acid (6.97 - 29.76mg/g) and non-essential amino acid (8.33 - 404.89mg/g). Histidine, valine, and threonine were the most abundant essential amino acid present in the mushroom. In conclusion, Sabah wild edible mushroom can be a potential source of both macronutrients and micronutrients.
