Abstract

This paper focuses on the influence of inspectors' experience and knowledge towards the reliability of the results of several usability inspection techniques for sonification applications. The inspection techniques used includes Cognitive Walkthrough, Heuristics Evaluation and Task Interpretation Walkthrough. Suitable technique, number of inspectors and inspector's knowledge are important to detect more anomalies. However, their experience is required to increase results' reliability. The application used in this experiment was a sound based application, which is referred as sonification application. Analysis of anomalies found and severity rating will be discussed and analyzed in this paper © 2009 IEEE.
