Abstract

The effect of operational parameters, namely Fe3+ and UV light on the degradation of MGO in Fenton-like (Fe3+1H202) and photo-Fenton-like (UVI Fe3+1H202) systems were investigated. The Fe3 + concentration was varied to give different Fe3+: H20 2 ratio (1 :20, 1 :40, 1: 1 00, 1 :200 and 1 :400). The degradation of MGO was followed by measuring the absorbance at λ=365nm. The results showed that higher concentration of Fe3+ gives the higher degradation of MGO. On the other Fe3+/H202/UV system showed higher degradation degree if compared to Fe3+/H202 system.
