Abstract

This project studies the doping effect of tin (Sn) in the colossal magnetoresistance of La₀.₆₇Ca₀.₃₃Mn₋xSnO₃, when the sample has been annealed from 1000C until 1200C with 200'C in hetween for the sample. Five samples with x ~ 0.00, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07 have heen prepared. The purpose of study is to understand the influence of annealing in the colossal magnetoresistance affect the samples. The resistances of the samples were measured by using magnetoresistance measurement and a four-point probe method to obtain the effect of CMR at the room temperature. Analysis atomic force machine (AFM) was used to examine the surface morphology of samples. Their structures were examined by using X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The curve shows the most negatif gradients is x = 0.03 after the annealing. The resistance drops with the applied field is 15.20%. We know the grain boundaries is more bigger if enhancement the Tin. This is the Tin enhance the size of grain boundaries. Besides of this, the XRD data shows that samples of La₀.₆₇Ca₀.₃₃Mn₋xSnO₃, systems are in single phase with rhombohedra structure and little effect on the lattice constants.
