Abstract

African catfish, Clarias gariepinus larvae were reared under light and dark conditions in three different densities. This study assessed the effects of light and dark conditions on the survival and growth rate of Clarias gariepinus larvae. In all conditions, the survival rate of larvae was notably higher in dark condition. Fish larvae reared in dark were larger than those reared in light.
