Abstract

Plant watering system is a system that can water the plant automatically. Plant watering system will only be activated when water content in soil is low. The main objective of this project is to build a water sensor and combine it with water valve. This plant watering system is applied to detect soil's moisture's level in 4.5" flower pot. This study comprises two experiments to obtain final results; they are functionality test of the sensor and functionality test of water valve with different moisture levels. Functionality test of sensor circuit is to get the reaction from the LED. LED will turn on when the water content in soil is low and it will tum off when water content in soil is high. Functionality test of water valve with different soil moisture level is to get the reaction from water valve with different soil moisture level. The water valve will function when the soil moisture level is low. It will not function when the soil moisture level is high. This plant watering system is more advantage than the conventional plant watering system which is using timer because this plant watering system is watering the plant according to the soil moisture level. In addition, it can be tuned easily to suit the moisture level needed for different kind of plant
