Abstract

The inaugural ASEAN University Student Leaders Conference (AUSLEA), held at Universiti Malaysia Sabah from 21 to 23 May 2001, brought together around 100 representatives from 22 ASEAN universities. The conference aimed to strengthen international relations among youth, recognizing their pivotal role in future national growth. With a focus on fostering understanding and collaboration at the university level, AUSLEA provided a platform for young leaders to discuss key ASEAN issues such as globalization, migration, and education. The conference emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity through collaboration among ASEAN countries, aiming to build lasting partnerships and mutual understanding.
