Abstract
This study explores the potential of Jambatan Tamparuli (Tamparuli Bridge), one of Sabah’s most iconic cultural landmarks, as a catalyst for educational tourism and heritage-based learning in early childhood education. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research combined traditional methods such as interviews, observations, and focus group discussions with educators, alongside AI-assisted tools including digital text mining and thematic analysis. Findings reveal that integrating local heritage into classroom practices not only strengthens children’s cultural identity, curiosity, and sense of belonging but also deepens their connection to Sabah’s living traditions. Educators reported higher learner engagement and contextual understanding when lessons were grounded in familiar cultural symbols. The study underscores the value of linking cultural landmarks with pedagogical innovation, positioning Jambatan Tamparuli as both a learning resource and an edu-tourism attraction that promotes culturally responsive education and sustainable heritage appreciation in Sabah.
