Abstract
This paper discusses the roles of phenolic acids in oil palm root against Ganoderma boninense. The emphasis is given to three important acids which are syringic, caffeic and 4-hydroxybenzoic acids. It also described the relation of ergosterol analysis to Basal Stem Rot (BSR) disease severity and the potential of chitosan to elicit the production of these phenolic acids.
