Abstract
The tourism market has evolved into a several simultaneous niche markets for the potential visitors - heritage site and cultures attraction. The declaration of mount Kinabalu as world heritage site in year of 2000 which located in Ranau distnct had given the good impacts on the increased of tourist inflow Into Sabah and also attract tourist to visit Ranau. The potential role of this tourism attraction is it contribution to the economic opportunities for the Ranau communities to act as tourism entrepreneur. Furthermore, the development and policies that been plan by Government also create an opportunity to be exploited among entrepreneurs In urban and rural areas. This research attempts to Investigate the significant determinant factors of entrepreneurial opportunity in the tourism sector in Ranau. It involved 65 entrepreneurs in tourism related activities in Ranau. There are 4 independent factors used to examine the level of significant with the dependent variable, the entrepreneurial opportunity process. The four independent variables are (i) Prior Knowledge, (ii) Experiences, (iii) Social networks, and (iv) Entrepreneurial Cognitive and Behavioral. The findings show that all of the variables used in the frameworks show significant relationship with the entrepreneurial opportunity recognition and development which is 37 % of the model.
