Abstract

The aim of this project is to create a sound module for the students in the level of secondary schools and college in the form of visualization. There will be two parts for this sound module which are the theoretical part as well as the practical part. The theoretical part for this project is the web based education system named as sound module by e-VIBS. This module will be uploaded on the internet so that everyone are able to access it anyway in the world. The web site fulfill with the learning syllabus requirement of Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR), Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and COLLEGE. These syllabuses will be arranged according to the cognitive level of each level. While educational psychology will be used as a guidance for the development of the system. This system has its own characteristics such as animation, sound sample, interesting graphic and picture, example, test and answer were added as the contents. Those elements will enable students to learn the physics of sound in an easy and express way. The practical part for this sound module is the chladni plate experiment. The purpose to create the Chladni plate experiment for this sound module is to show the method for making visible the vibrations of a plate of aluminium and understand that sound is produced by vibrations. Sound source can be visualized through this experiment
