Abstract

Environmental monitoring is an activity or process that monitors the characteristics and the quality of environment. The environmental monitoring is also used in predicting the environment consequences, resulted by human activities which might carry a risk of harmful effects on the natural environment. The reason to design process for environmental monitoring is to establish the current status of the environment or to establish the environment parameters. Most of the monitoring system relies heavily on expensive tools and equipment. For example the satellites or scientific research vessels that needs to be managed carefully. Therefore, a prototype to monitor the surrounding temperature, light intensity and humidity is developed in this project. The input time interval can be adjusted depending on the user. The output will be displayed on the LCD and the data would be saved continuously. The device will be helpful particularly for those who would like to characterize and monitor the parameter of the environment.
