Abstract

Marine mammals are endangered species. Marine mammals have 4 orders, which are Cetacean, Sirenian, Piniped and Marine Fisiped. Doplhins are one of suborder in Cetacean. The development of dolphin’s watcher expert system will help the expert or their research assistant to identify the species of the dolphins in Malaysia. This expert system (ES) is developed using PROLOG as the platform and console for the interface. Through ES, rules can be associated to evaluate the conditions and determine the result. Where the rules have been constructed from the expert knowledge and this also became one of the knowledge-based systems. This paper explained briefly on the development of the ES and both of the inference engines that had been used.
