Abstract

This research is conducted under the rain shelter provided by Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture, University of Malaysia Sabah. This rain shelter are nearest Makmal Ladang, Faculty of Sustainable Agriculture. The period this research took 5 month. This research are being for compare the advantages using palm oil mesocarp as medium in fertigation system with cocopeat as control treatment by using regularly by farmers at outside. Cocopeat price are most expensive and limited to get it in Sabah compare mesocarp are cheaper and easy to find at this states. Thus, this research are will prove the mesocarp is significant or not give effect from observation chilies growth and production. The kulai variety chooses because that have high potential in industry and have high growth rate and production besides have high tolerance in pest and disease. The parameter are measure by observe the growth and production, measure the growth are observe the diameter of stem, and high of plant The production observation are measure the fruit diameter, wet weight and long fruit. Harvesting will do at week 9 after the date of transplanting. The result was not given significant each parameter except the diameter of plant stem. In the conclUSion, the oil palm mesocarp that boiled in 30 minute (T4) that give potential to replace cocopeat as medium in commercial fertigation project.
