Abstract
A new 4α-methyl sterol, 4α-methyl-ergosta-6,8(14),22E-triene- 3β-ol (1), was isolated along with cholesterol from a Nephthea sp. Bornean soft coral. The structure of compound 1 was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and comparison of the data with those of the related compounds. © 2009 by the authors.
