Abstract

The rapid development of technology and globalization has resulted in rapid economic growth in developed countries in the world. Labor mobility is something that cannot be separated from the context of the labor market, workers will tend to look for work with high income to increase their welfare. In Indonesia, labor mobility has shown a growing trend in the last 30 years, both in terms of emigrant workers and immigrant workers. Labor mobility in the labor market certainly has an impact on both origin and host countries, this research paper will analyze the impact of labor emigration and immigration in Indonesia. Labor mobility has two sides of the impact, namely a negative impact and a positive impact, this impact is a challenge and opportunity for the country so that there is a need for readiness to face the opportunities and challenges that exist through the right policies. In the end, this paper will describe the implications of the right policies to face the challenge of labor mobility in Indonesia as a step towards actualizing resources and as an effort to improve the national economy.
