Abstract
This work studied the potential of dried water lily roots in adsorbing Cu (II) ions from aqueous solution. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out to identify the effect of contact time and initial concentration on adsorption of Cu (II) ions by dried water lily roots. The adsorption of Cu (II) increased with the increasing of contact time. Higher initial concentration increased the adsorption of Cu (II) due to the increased concentration gradient force. The experimental results fitted Langmuir isotherm with R² value of 0.973 which gave the maximum adsorption capacity of 17.79 mgg¹
