For centuries, people have been captivated and fascinated by wildlife. It is therefore, not surprisingly that the burgeoning and flourishing wildlife tourism industry is becoming an increasingly important component of tourism worldwide. Tourism can significantly benefit conservation. Consequently, wildlife tourism can considerably help to protect and conserve the wildlife species in Sabah. Many species have benefited from wildlife tourism and perhaps even owe their survival to it. Therefore, the research was done to identify the potential of fireflies watching tourism as a mechanism to conserve the dwindling population of fireflies in Sabah. Based on research, it is found out that fireflies can be an added attraction for Sabah's wildlife tourism packages and with the full support from the local communities, firefly tourism can be developed as another effort for fireflies conservation and management.
