Abstract
Moon and sun are of vital in the daily life of every Muslim. This paper is a library research and history review on the special interest of the muslims in astronomy. The findings are by the moon, Muslims determine the beginning and the end of the months in their lunar calendar. By the sun the Muslims calculate the times for prayer and fasting. It is by means of astronomy that Muslims can determine the precise direction of the Qiblah, during prayer, to face the Ka'bah in Makkah. The Jilali is the most precise science computing, solar calendar, superior to the Julian, devised under the supervision of Umar Khayyam
