Abstract
The study area is bounded by latitude 6° 02'09'N to 6° 05'O7"N and longitude 116° 09'O8"E to 116° 12'05"E around Taman Putera Jaya. The area is underlain by Eocene turbidite sequence of the Crocker Formation. The Crocker Formation consists of sandstone and shale interbeds that were deposited in a deep sea environment. Litholog analysis shows the presence of 3 types of facies, namely Thick Sandstone Facies, Sandstone interbedded with shale Facies and Thick Shale Facies. Facies Association gives the information about the migration and progradation of lobes, channels and levee deposition. Paleocurrent direction is about 30°E and the depositional environment of the area is deep water middle fan. This formation has undergone compressive tectonics trending NW-SE that was responsible for the NE-SW trending folds and thrust faults.
