Abstract
Vanda dearei is an orchid in genus Vanda which endemic in Borneo. Because of over exploitation and high demand of these species a,using it listed as endangered species. As the Vanda dearei couldn't produced much seed it an be propagated by proliferation of protocorm and protocorm like bodies {PLB}. In addition, beside solid culture proliferation PLB of Vanda dearei can be done through liquid culturing. PLB firstly Induced at concentrations 4.0mgf1 SAP: 1.0mgf1 NAA. 7hen, PLB an be proliferate in Mitra base liquid media by using growth regulator single and combination of NAA and BAP at 1.0mgf1 and 0.5mgf1 respectively. Different types of exp/ants also Influenced the proliferation of PLB. 7he proliferation of PLB using a combination of growth regulator on 0.5mgf1 NAA: 1.0mg/1 SAP is the most appropriate treatment compared to a single regulator. New protocorms were produced with mean 3.67 ± 3.79 seeds with 100% rate of proliferation and total explants necrosis of 67% after 5 weeks of culturing. Meanwhile, for the treatment of a single growth regulator, treatment at 1.0mgf1 BAP shows 100% exp/ants proliferate with the highest mean production of PLB with 2.67 ± 1.25 seeds and total of explants necrosis 67% after S weeks of culturing. Explant that suitable for PLB proliferation was exp/ant that separated and cultured in solid media for 1 week before transfer to the Mitra base liquid culture system. These exp/ants produced the highest mean of new PLB with 7.67 ± 0.47 seeds at 0.5mgt' NAA:1.0mgt' BAP treatment with a 100o/4 rate of proliferation consistent with a low rate of exp/ants necrosis with 33% after 5 weeks of culturing.
