Abstract
The harmoniousness and advancement of a country do not depend solely on economic development. It also depends on other factors, especially tolerance factor –a fundamental element of a country's politics. Many conflicts occur throughout the world due to factors such as racial or religious differences. These conflicts can be avoided if handled well. Therefore, to determine whether a community maintains good relationship among themselves, indicators of tolerance are often used as a benchmark. Therefore, this study aims to measure the level of ethnic tolerance among the Bumiputra students in secondary school in Kota Kinabalu. This study utilized questionnaire as the instrument and involved a total of 731 respondents. The findings revealed that the level of tolerance among the students is high. This shows that the relationship among multi-ethnic communities in Kota Kinabalu is good.
