Abstract
This paper discusses the Taiwan development during the Japanese colonial period from 1895 until 1945. The aspect of development explores in this study are; Infrastructure Development, Health Facilities and Education Development, Agricultural Development and Colonial Policy, Institutional and Organisational Reforms, Development and Industrialisation pattern and; External Trade. This study used secondary sources; book, journal article and internet sources. The development process during colonial period is an important stage in the Taiwan development process. The infrastructure, education development and colonial policies in agriculture, mining and industries that was developed during the colonial period contributes to the rapid Taiwan development process after Second World War.
