Abstract

The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector currently makes up 99.2% of all Malaysian business establishments and is considered a major engine of economic growth for the country. Therefore, in order to ensure the continued survival and longterm success of local SMEs, Malaysian business leaders and decision-makers need to understand the key organisational factors that affect the ability of the country's SMEs to gain sustainable competitive advantages through being more entrepreneurial and innovative. This research study specifically looks at the five key Organisational Antecedents needed for sustainable corporate entrepreneurship and to what extent they affect the Entrepreneurial Intensity amongst service sector SMEs in Sabah, Malaysia. The knowledge generated from this study will provide our corporate leaders, government business development agencies, entrepreneurs and training consultants with useful information that they can use to help improve the organisational and economic performance of service sector SMEs in Sabah, Malaysia.
