Abstract

The objectives of this study are to investigate the influences of culture based on Hofstedes' cultural dimensions and ethical values on entrepreneurial venture success of entrepreneurs in Kota Kinabalu. The researcher seeks to contribute to the development of the theoretical framework that relates the Hofstedes' cultural dimension namely power distance, uncertainty avoidance, collectivism, long-term orientation and masculinity and the ethical values with the entrepreneurial venture success. This study is carried out among entrepreneurs of SMEs listed in SME Corporation Sdn Bhd. database who are operated their business in Kota Kinabalu area. For the purpose of this research, the researcher used questionnaire as the main research instrument and using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 to analyze and summarized the data collected. A comprehensive literature review was performed to form the conceptual framework which is guided this study. The findings of this study expose that power distance, collectivism and ethical decision have a significant positive influence on the entrepreneurial venture success among entrepreneur in Kota Kinabalu.
