Abstract
This paper investigate the relationship of human-related factors, system related factors and external factors with effective cash management. The purpose of this paper is to establish the factors that contribute towards effective cash management among housing developers in Sabah. The results of the research showed that two of the independent variables, namely 'Manager's Knowledge and Attitude Towards cash Management Activities' and 'Continuous Liquidity Planning with Frequent Feedback' are identified as crucial to effective cash management. Interestingly, contrary to expectation, this study documents a significant negative relation between 'Relationship with Supplier' and the effective cash management of housing developer firms in Sabah. In other words, the lesser the relationship of firms with their supplier, the more effective are firms in their cash management routines.
