Abstract
The real world phenomena, for example in this dissertation, the environmental modeling of water quality, are always described in mathematical model with one or more partial differential equations. This research is to study the effectiveness of the 2 Points Half-Sweep Explicit Group (2HSEG) Iterative scheme compared to the classical Gauss-Seidel (GS) iterative scheme. The GS iterative scheme is used to solve the system of linear equations generated from the discretization process of the finite difference method (FDM). For validation, several numerical experiments were conducted in order to analyse the effectiveness of the HSEG methods in terms of number of iterations, computational time and generated maximum error.
