Abstract

This study investigates the use of 'The Pearl' song lyrics writing and puformance activities in. teaching form five vocational students who come from rural areas specifically form five vocational students who study at Sekolah Menengah Teknik Likas, Kata Kinabalu to answer 'The Pearl' novel question (Section D, Paper 2: English 1119 SPM Examination). Data were gathered through experiments that have been conducted to the experimental group as well as to the control group. The data collected was analyzed descriptively using t-Test, average, improvement count and percentage. Moreover, data were also gathered from interviews and observation. The results show that the participants score higher result and better improvement when The Pearl' song lyrics writing and performance activities were used.
